What to Do With Expired Milk

Can you still use milk after its expiration date? Yes, you can if it doesn’t show signs of spoilage. You can easily tell if it’s spoiled if it has a sour odor, curdled appearance, change in color, and lumps. Milk can also spoil before its expiration date if not stored properly due to room temperature, improper handling, or other factors. So, always check your milk before using it.

If it doesn’t show any signs of spoilage, do not throw it away. You can still use it to make cream cheese! Sam’s Home Kitchen on YouTube shared how to turn expired milk into a delicious cream cheese that you can eat with crackers or vegetables, or use as a bread spread. You can even use it to make desserts like cheesecake. Watch the video below for full instructions.

What You Need to Make Cream Cheese

  • 67.6 oz of full-cream milk
  • 2.5 oz of vinegar
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 oz of olive oil

Note: you can also use lemon or lime instead of vinegar

Turn Expired Milk to Cream Cheese

Step 1:

In a heavy-based pot, pour all the milk and heat over medium heat. Once it comes up to a boil, slowly add the vinegar while stirring.

Step 2:

Once the milk has curdled and the liquid becomes yellowish but not cloudy, turn the heat off.
