Vegetables That Shouldn’t Be Stored Together!

️⃣ Tomatoes 🍅 and Avocados 🥑: Both release ethylene gas, which speeds up the ripening (and spoiling!) of nearby vegetables. Keep them away from ethylene-sensitive veggies like cucumbers and lettuce! 🥬🚫

️⃣ Potatoes 🥔 and Onions 🧅: Storing these together is a common mistake! Onions release moisture and gases that accelerate potato spoilage, making them soft and inedible quickly. 😨

️⃣ Cucumbers 🥒 and Tomatoes 🍅: Cucumbers are very sensitive to ethylene. If placed near tomatoes or other ethylene-producing fruits, they become soft and yellow quickly! 🤢

️⃣ Carrots 🥕 and Apples 🍏: Apples emit ethylene gas, which carrots absorb—this causes them to lose freshness and develop a bitter taste. Keep carrots sealed and away from apples! 🚫🛑

️⃣ Eggplants 🍆 and Potatoes 🥔: These two require different storage conditions—eggplants prefer slightly warmer temperatures, while potatoes like it cool. Don’t store them in the same basket! 😬
