- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in milk, egg, and melted butter. Stir until just combined (do not overmix).
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Pour or scoop batter onto the hot griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles appear on the surface of the pancakes and the edges look set. Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
