1. Prepare the Rice:
- Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water to remove excess starch.
- Cook the rice according to the package instructions until soft and fully cooked.
- Allow the cooked rice to cool to room temperature.
2. Activate the Yeast:
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar or honey. Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
3. Mix the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled rice, activated yeast mixture, salt, and olive oil (if using).
- Gradually add more warm water, if necessary, to form a sticky dough. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
4. Let the Dough Rise:
- Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
5. Shape and Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a loaf pan or baking sheet.
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the dough in the prepared pan or on the baking sheet.
- Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
6. Bake:
- Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
