Ritz Cracker Party Sandwiches

  1. Step 1: Preheat Oven & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Step 2: Prepare Ham & Cheese: Cut the deli ham and Swiss cheese slices into quarters so they fit neatly on the Ritz crackers. You will need 24 small squares of ham and 24 small squares of cheese.
  3. Step 3: Assemble Sandwiches: Lay half of the Ritz crackers (24 crackers) flat on the prepared baking sheet. Top each cracker with one small slice of ham, followed by one small slice of Swiss cheese. Place the remaining 24 Ritz crackers on top of the cheese to form a sandwich.
  4. Step 4: Make the Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, poppy seeds, and dried minced onion.
  5. Step 5: Brush the Sandwiches: Using a pastry brush, generously brush the tops of the Ritz cracker sandwiches with the butter mixture. Make sure to coat each sandwich evenly.
  6. Step 6: Bake: Bake the sandwiches for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crackers are golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the oven and let them cool for a minute before serving. Serve warm.

Cooking Notes

  • Cheese Substitution: You can substitute the Swiss cheese with cheddar, provolone, or any other cheese of your choice.
  • Ham Variation: Feel free to switch out the ham for turkey, roast beef, or other deli meats to suit your preferences.
