No-Bake Classic Woolworth Cheesecake Recipe

This no-bake classic Woolworth cheesecake recipe by SugarApron on YouTube is an easy and fluffy dessert. I’ve never heard of this dessert before but it is a vintage dessert that has a lemony flavor. It’s a perfect cheesecake recipe because it looks light and not too heavy with the cream cheese. The prep time for this cheesecake takes only 10 minutes, and it’s a great recipe to try if you want something classic to take to a potluck or gathering. Plus, it’s a different version of a typical cheesecake. My mom loves cheesecake, but this recipe does not require many ingredients and I’d love to make this one day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (3 oz) lemon Jell-0
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 box graham cracker crumbs (3 cups) more for thicker crust divided
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 can evaporated milk, well chilled or 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Directions:

First, dissolve the Jell-o in hot boiling water and cool in the fridge until slightly thickened. Mix the graham crackers and melted butter until they are well blended and press it into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan to form a crust. Set some aside to use for later.

The only way I’d eat cheesecake is if it’s stored in the freezer before serving because I do not like the strong cream cheese flavor. However, this recipe has lemon Jell-o added, and I think it would tone down the cheese flavor. The best part about cheesecake is that there is no oven required to make this. The downside of it would be letting it sit the fridge overnight or for a few hours before serving.
