Struggling with hard-boiled eggs that won’t peel cleanly? Tired of losing half the egg white with the shell? Here’s a kitchen trick that doesn’t involve boiling eggs in water—and gives you perfectly peelable eggs every time. No more frustration, just smooth, easy results!
🔥 The Secret? Steam, Don’t Boil!
Instead of boiling eggs in a pot of water, steam them! Steaming loosens the shell membrane, making the eggs much easier to peel—especially with fresh eggs, which are usually the hardest.
🧺 How to Steam Eggs for Easy Peeling
What You Need:
- A steamer basket (or colander that fits in a pot)
- A pot with a lid
- Eggs (any number)
- Cold water or ice bath
Instructions:
- Add 1 inch of water to a pot and bring to a boil.
- Place the eggs in a steamer basket above the boiling water.
- Cover with a lid and steam for:
- 12 minutes for hard-boiled
- 8–9 minutes for medium
- 6–7 minutes for soft-boiled
- When time is up, transfer immediately to a bowl of ice water (or very cold water).
- Let cool for at least 5–10 minutes.
- Crack and peel—you’ll be amazed how the shell just slides off!
