❌ MYTH #1: Eggs raise your cholesterol
👉 One of the most persistent nutrition myths! But today we know that dietary cholesterol has little impact on blood cholesterol for most people. In fact, about 80% of blood cholesterol is produced by your own liver. When you eat more cholesterol, your body compensates by making less.
🧬 In some individuals with genetic conditions (like familial hypercholesterolemia), this regulation can be impaired.
✅ What actually affects your LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels is a diet high in:
• Saturated fats (butter, cheese, red meats, processed meats)
• Trans fats (some packaged snacks, baked goods)
• Refined sugars
• And low in fiber and healthy fats (like those from fish, nuts, and olive oil). 💪 Physical activity also plays a key role!
❌ MYTH #2: Eating more than 2 eggs a week is unhealthy
❗This outdated idea came from early dietary guidelines.
