Homemade butter variations:
If you’re looking to get creative with your flavors, we included three butter options in addition to our basic recipe. Add strawberry jam for a sweet strawberry version, honey and sea salt for a salted honey butter, and chopped fresh herbs, garlic, and salt for a garlic-herb butter. Looking for even more compound butter inspo? Checkout our Tuscan butter, red wine butter, and maple butter.
How long does homemade butter last?
Homemade butter won’t last quite as long as store-bought. The more buttermilk you’re able to squeeze out of it, though, the longer it will last. In the refrigerator, it will keep for up to 3 weeks, but can be frozen for about 3 months.
