Ginger has a spicy, hot taste, the effect of removing fishy odors, enhancing the flavor of dishes. Most people will buy a moderate amount of ginger and store it at home for convenient use. However, ginger bought and left for a few days will wilt or sprout, spoil, and throw it away, which is a waste. To preserve ginger, follow the method below.
Preserve ginger with green tea
- Take some green tea and wrap it in a tissue or newspaper (you can use tea bags for convenience).
- Put the ginger in a plastic bag, put the tea bag in, tie the bag tightly and leave it in a cool place. The tea will absorb moisture, helping the ginger to dry and not rot. You should open the bag occasionally to check.
- If the tea bag is damp, replace it with a new one. Remove the ginger inside, dry it, and then put it back in the bag.
Preserve ginger with salt
Salt is a spice that is readily available in the kitchen. You can use it to preserve ginger.
- You can also put the salt in plastic wrap
- Place the ginger on top and wrap it tightly
- Squeeze out all the moisture.
- Put the ginger package in the refrigerator to preserve. Best restaurants near me
